The great Windy City of Chicago was founded between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River in 1833 and has since grown to be the third-largest city in the United States. The city is known as the "Windy City," "Chi Town," the "Blues Capitol of the World," and "Second City." Chicago is the city responsible for foods like the Chicago-style hot dog and deep dish pizza. The city is also considered to be the "most American of big cities."

Chi-Town is the world's 5th most economically powerful city as named by Forbes magazine. Chicago is a top ten Global Financial Center with the second largest labor pool in the country and an axis for industry, telecommunications and infrastructure. Boeing, Kraft Foods, McDonalds, United Continental Holdings, United Airlines, General Electric, and Chase Bank are just a few of the major corporations that have offices located in Chicago.
The city is home to some of the nation's premier entertainment with Broadway in Chicago and Second City Theatre, among many others. Some of the most well-known sports teams hail from the city like the NBA Chicago Bulls, the NFL Chicago Bears, the MLB Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs play at the historic Wrigley field, which is one of Chicago's famous landmarks. Other Chicago landmarks and must-see features include the Willis Tower, Navy Pier, the Chicago Cultural Center, Magnificent Mile, and the arts and cultural institutions within the Museum Campus.
