The Art Institute of Chicago is located in Chicago's Grant Park on South Michigan Avenue. The fine art museum is the second largest in the nation preceded only by New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, and has a 260,000-piece collection that spans more than 5,000 years of human expression. The institute is considered to have one of the world's most outstanding collections of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art.
The one million-square-foot museum's collection includes Old Master works, American art, European and American decorative arts, Asian art, Egyptian art, Greek art, Roman art, and works of modern and contemporary art. Famous works by artists like Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Heri Matisse, Paul Cezanne, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Georges Seurat, Pablo Picasso, Gustave Caillebotte, Vincent Van Gogh, Grand Wood, Edward Hopper, Mary Cassatt and others are displayed at the Art Institute of Chicago.
